Korean force torque sensor manufacturer, Robotous, signs MOU Robotous and Dongkoo Bio & Pharma. signed an MOU to promote smart factory commercialization in the pharmaceutical industry

Robotous, a Korean force torque sensor manufacturer, recently signed an MOU with Dongkoo Bio & Pharma. for the joint promotion of smart factory commercialization in the pharmaceutical industry.
Dongkoo Bio & Pharma., which recently became the second largest shareholder of Robotous by investing KRW 1.6billions, explained that this MOU would secure future-oriented competitiveness through manufacturing innovation in line with the era of the 4th industrial revolution.
Founded in 2004, Robotous supplied core parts for supercomputers to IBM in the United States and produced RFT series, a force torque sensor for robots, in Korea only. In addition, Robotous has the first original technology for micro bubble shower in the world. Also Robotous is selling it following PCT patent applications in 141 countries around the world.
Through this MOU, Dongkoo Bio & Pharma. plans to preemptively respond to the cost increase factors that the pharmaceutical industry is facing through manufacturing innovation and promote the commercialization of smart factories for the domestic pharmaceutical industry. Earlier, officials from both companies toured Dongkoo Bio & Pharma.’s production line and discussed the possible applications of cooperative robots and future productivity improvement.
In the future, the two companies plan to make Dongkoo Bio & Pharma. as a smart factory reference site. Robotous is in charge of development and production, and Dongkoo Bio & Pharma. is preparing a joint commercialization model by packaging and operating a smart factory in the pharmaceutical industry. In addition, the technology and experience of Dongkoo Bio & Pharma., the No. 1 prescription drug in dermatology, is applied to the microbubble generator business field, which is known to be effective in skin care, atopy, and acne treatment, and synergy of joint business is expected.
Vice President of Dongkoo Bio & Pharma., who recently led successful investments and IPOs such as D&D Pharmatech and Bionote, participated in the management as an outside director of Robotous. Dongkoo Bio & Pharma. is planning follow-up funding after participating in IBK's stake with the goal of listing.
