Korean functional films, coating materials, and nano materials manufacturer AMTE started applying a comprehensive wage system Action on implementation of 52-hour workweek policy
Apr 16, 2021, 05:10
AMTE, a Korean venture company that stands out in the fields of functional films, coating materials, and nanomaterials, has decided to apply a comprehensive wage system to all employees due to the implementation of 52-hour workweek policy.
SMEs such as AMTE agree with the government's introduction of the 52-hour workweek system, but argue that it is necessary to supplement the system to suit the reality of the company. Despite the increased management burden due to the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19), various self-help measures are being prepared to comply with the Labor Standards Act, but it is not easy.
Companies are increasingly worried about the expansion of the manpower required for the introduction of the 52-hour working week system, the increase in the burden of additional expenses, and the turnover of foreign workers due to a decrease in wages.
In this situation, AMTE was forced to decide to implement the comprehensive wage system because the reduction of working hours for production workers was expected to be a major blow to the company due to the nature of the business that produced orders through B2B (inter-company transactions) business.
The product must be produced and delivered within the delivery date, but this is to prevent the irregularities in the work that are left behind when the production staff who fill the working hours leave work.
AMTE CEO Kim Nam-hoon said, "Next year, when the guidance period of 52-hour working week system is over, we will have to hire 5 more employees next year." And he added with concern, “The market situation has deteriorated due to the prolonged Corona 19, and there are many operational concerns as the number of employees must be increased before recovering the amount previously spent on facility investment last year.”
On the other hand, AMTE, established in 2009, has created various uses of materials through the development of new technologies and succeeded in developing energy-saving materials and films to manufacture functional materials and films applicable to fields such as electronics, energy, automobiles, and architecture.
In addition, it manufactures displays and industrial materials based on synthesis, dispersion, and blending technologies, which are essential technologies in the increasingly advanced nano-materials and functional materials fields, and abundant research experience, and supplies new materials tailored to customers' needs.
AMTE is making continuous research and efforts to become a world-class small and medium-sized company in the field of materials that enables better value creation for customers, and is a company with an expectation for the future.
The product must be produced and delivered within the delivery date, but this is to prevent the irregularities in the work that are left behind when the production staff who fill the working hours leave work.
