Oct 30, 2020, 02:30
Korean cyber security solution provider, Stealien (CEO : Park Chan-am) announced that it has selected the first participants of the security talent mentoring program 'Stealien Security Leader(SSL)'.
SSL is a program that discovers and supports new security providers that will lead the information security field in the future. Stealien started with the SSL for the first time this year, and more than 100 teams from students to office workers applied. After that, Stealien selected the final 16 people through document screening and in-depth interviews by the SSL mentor over two weeks. Successful candidates, including high school students, are expected to conduct research projects on various topics, including analysis of vulnerabilities in mobile and commercial programs by the end of this year.
In this program, four topics were selected in consideration of applicants' interests, and teams were organized for each topic. Books necessary for the progress of the study are provided free of charge by Stealien, and a mentor group composed of hackers and information security experts conducts guidance and advice every other week. However, depending on the COVID-19 situation, both research and mentoring are conducted non-face-to-face.
An official of the SSL said, "We am looking forward to seeing what kind of results will be produced by the enthusiastic talents uniting with Stealien's mentor. Next year, we will expand the scale further."
Stealien is a Korean cyber security solution provider founded in 2014 by CEO, Chan-am Park, a famous white hacker.
While other Korean mobile security companies are only reselling foreign products, Stealien is supplying 100% self-developed mobile security solutions.
Major clients include KB Bank, Hanwha Investment & Securities, LG Electronics, SK Telecom, and Korea Smart Card.
In addition, Stealien is constantly researching and developing related technologies through high-level research and development (R&D) projects with national institutions. It has also actively advanced overseas and recently made contracts with partners in Japan.
