Jain Technology, a Korean ultrasonic flowmeter manufacturer, speaks of excellence in Korean technology Jain Technology, and Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials succeed in localizing ultrasonic sensors for composite materials
Feb 05, 2021, 04:43
Jain Technology, a Korean ultrasonic flowmeter manufacturer, announced that it has recently succeeded in localizing 'composite material-based ultrasonic sensors' through cooperation work with the team in the Nano Processing Equipment Laboratory of Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials.
The composite material-based ultrasonic sensor is a piezoelectric element used for ultrasonic imaging equipment. It is a high-tech material component that improves the ultrasonic signal level by cutting and re-joining the existing disk-based piezoelectric elements from hundreds to thousands of them with high precision. It is considered a high value-added product, with a price of 1 million won for the size of a nail.
The two companies succeeded in localization by starting the research and development of ultrasonic sensors based on composite materials for about a year as part of the major project of the Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials, 'industrial support and future promising mechanical technology planning project'.
All ultrasonic sensors are currently being imported from Japan, the United States, and Germany, and this development is expected to replace imported products with the ones from Jain Technology in the future.
The product developed this time is characterized in that the flow accuracy of the ultrasonic gas sensor has been improved so that it shows the same performance as the existing sonic nozzle method.
Meanwhile, Jain Technology is a Korean ultrasonic flowmeter manufacturer that produces ultrasonic flowmeters, and as an internationally certified calibration institution, calibrates and inspects various flowmeters. The ultrasonic flowmeter currently being produced is a clamp-on ultrasonic transit-time flowmeter, and this one has a NEP certification obtained from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and new technology from the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Previous flowmeters have sensors located inside pipes, so they had to be cut or drilled during installation. This could lead to a malfunction due to the influence of sensor contamination or deterioration of performance by foreign substances, corrosion, etc.
On the other hand, the external wall-mounted ultrasonic flowmeter developed and produced by Jain Technology simply needs to be attached to the outer wall of the pipe to measure the flow rate. Therefore, the sensor is not contaminated or corroded, and there is no difficulty such as number of steps during installation.
