SEC has more than 20 products, including the 'X-Eye 6000 Series', which is in high demand as it has the industry's best inspection speed and detection power in the field of industrial X-ray inspection machines. Exports of these products account for more than 50% of the company's sales. SEC plans to rise to the top 3 in the global industrial X-ray inspection machine market by raising the proportion of exports to 80% in the future.
In addition, the reason why SEC industrial X-ray inspection equipment is popular is because, unlike its competitors, a hybrid X-ray tube was localized and installed in the equipment. A typical sealed and reflective X-ray tube has a lifespan of 10,000 hours, but has disadvantages in terms of magnification and resolution.
On the other hand, open/transmissive X-ray tubes can realize high magnification and high resolution, but have a short lifespan of 300 hours. In 2014, SEC developed a hybrid X-ray tube with a long lifespan of 10,000 hours while realizing high magnification and high resolution.
SEC is supplying the in-line automatic X-ray inspection machine (In-Line AXI) to which the hybrid X-ray tube is applied to industries that require close inspection such as semiconductors, automotive electronic components, and batteries. Above all, from the perspective of SEC, it is possible to reduce the cost of equipment maintenance due to the long filament replacement period.
Based on electronic beam source technology, SEC developed SEM for the first time in Korea in 2006, occupying more than 50% of the domestic market share in the tabletop SEM field, maintaining the No. 1 position.
Kim Jong-hyun, CEO of SEC, continues to challenge the new market. After 8 years of research and development, SEC developed a linear accelerator in 2016. SEC has been concentrating its capabilities on commercialization. Linear accelerators are highly utilized in the security and non-destructive testing fields such as non-destructive testing in the defense industry and container searches, and in the medical field such as radiation cancer treatment devices.
They cast their votes in the linear accelerator market dominated by a few global companies.
SEC is currently building a stationary container searcher demonstration facility in Gwangyang Port to develop a market, and also completed a mobile container searcher demonstration facility, laying the groundwork for entering the global industrial linear accelerator market. In addition, SEC has set the goal of supplying accelerator tubes and RF generators, which are core components of linear accelerators, to radiation cancer treatment equipment companies, and bypassing the radiation cancer treatment equipment market with high entry barriers.
He said, “We are grateful to the employees who have worked hard to pursue the best for the past 30 years and to keep the integrity and trustworthiness, 100 partners who worked together in R&D, and the customers who trusted and loved our products. We will lay the foundation for a 100-year company through 'technology-oriented innovation'."
