“I am confident that our company’s UV-C light emitting diode (LED) ‘one-stop solution’ is the best in the world.”
Myung-seok Oh, CEO of Photon Wave, showed confidence in their independently developed technology. Photonwave is a company that specializes in UV-C LEDs in Korea.
UV-C LED is an LED that outputs ‘UV-C’ ultraviolet rays in the wavelength range of 200 to 280 nm. Among UV rays, it has a short wavelength, so it is suitable for killing invisible bad bacteria or removing water contaminants. Recently, as the sterilization problem has emerged due to the spread of the Covid19, UV-C LED technology is attracting attention from the industry.
Photon Wave's UV-C LED chip orders are also flooding Photonwave, established in 2016, succeeded in supplying sample chips to customers last year and posted sales of 1.4 billion won. This year's goal is 12 billion won, eight times more than last year.
As orders flooded in from all over the world, there was also a supply shortage. When it surpassed the head office's fish capacity, it secured production facilities at the nearby Institute of Advanced Technology.
The differentiated point of Photon Wave, a Korean sterilization light emitting diode chip manufacturer, is a one-stop solution that self-digests all processes from wafer to chip mass production. In particular, designing and manufacturing UV-C LED epitaxial wafers is the biggest advantage.
Myung-seok Oh, CEO of Photon Wave, has worked at Samsung Electronics Advanced Institute of Technology, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, LG Innotech LED Research Center, and Seoul Opto device.
His know-how, which has been devoted to securing UV-C LED technology for more than 10 years, is concentrated on wafers.
PhotonWave, a Korean sterilization light emitting diode chip manufacturer, is currently actively collaborating with big corporations from Korea and foreign. Beyond chips for everyday use such as home appliances and automobiles, high-power chips for water treatment systems that will replace mercury lamps have also begun mass production preparations.
