"The defect rate falls by half, introducing smart factory” Irenox, a Korean toilet paper manufacturer, can manage most of processes with just one staff for monitoring, expecting millions in sales through increased productivity

In the smart factory of Irenox, a Korean toilet paper manufacturer, the process of squeezing natural pulp, cutting it, and packing it in a box continues. The finished product is loaded in a small warehouse next to the facility, and natural pulp weighing 500~800kg per piece is managed through the forklift in order without error.
Four employees just did the production of such a toilet paper three years ago, but now only one employee monitors the process and the machine takes care of the rest. In particular, three years ago, all products were not arranged, and employees were struggling due to various dusts in the factory. The change occurred after Irenox received support from Samsung Electronics to build a smart factory.
“When four employees managed production lines, new employees often quit in a week because of hard work, and there were many difficulties in optimizing the production lines. With just one employee monitoring, most of the process management is possible." After the introduction of the smart factory, Irenox's facility utilization rate increased by more than 30% and the defect rate decreased by 50%, which significantly increased overall production efficiency.
Since Irenox was selected as the government's smart factory support target in 2016, Irenox has invested a total of 0,000.0 (half the amount of government support) to complete the smart factory facility. Sales, which were around .8millions in 2016, were increased to .6millions in 2018 due to increased productivity, and are expected to reach millions in 2020.
Irenox, which started as a toilet business such as unmanned toilets and automated toilets in 2007, has now developed into a company that manufactures and produces household goods such as jumbo roll toilet paper and beauty tissues. Currently, Irenox, which has 150 business partners in domestic department stores, outlets, and factories is actively pursuing overseas exports and is trading about 150 tons of fabric per month.
Irenox is focusing on online business as well as B2B business. Irenox would like to run an online shopping mall as the number of consumers who purchase supplies such as toilet paper and bottled water on the Internet increases. If small business owners used to be Irenox’s main customers, many home orders are increased these days. In addition to jumbo rolls, there are various types of beauty tissues and wet tissues.
